Brain User Guide - Wise English Study Habits (1st month)

You can improve your English by getting into the habit of conquering your brain's oblivion and your body's laziness

“Why can't I improve my grades even though I'm studying English hard? , “Why can't I talk when I meet a foreigner when I meet a foreigner when I listen to English conversation classes?” Students who have thought like this at least once can find the cause and answer in this course.

- The reason English grades don't improve is due to brain forgetting and body laziness.

- With repetitive recall training, you can remember for a long time without forgetting what you've studied.

- If you study every day according to the repetitive recall training schedule, you will develop a habit, and the habit will eventually become an achievement.

Students who benefit from this course are:

- Those who feel a lack of vocabulary while preparing for SAT/TOEIC

- People who cannot interpret sentences correctly when interpreting intermediate/advanced English sentences because they interpret the meaning of words in a combination

- Those who listen closely to school classes but can't speak in conversation

- Those who study hard but don't get satisfactory grades

Question 1) Can university students and the general public also take this course?

University students and the general public who want to improve their English reading and conversation skills can also take this course. This is because high school English vocabulary and grammar skills determine lifelong English proficiency.

Question 2) Why do college students and the general public study English vocabulary with efficient voca etymology?

The best way to learn English vocabulary is to study words with the same etymology together. When words with the same etymology are studied together, neurons that store the meaning of the word are connected and activated at the same time, which helps to remember the meaning of the word. After studying the 1400 words in the Etymology section of Efficient Boca, you will improve your English vocabulary skills amazingly if you study Hacker Stoic Writing Boca.

Question 3) Is studying grammar necessary for good English conversation?

English grammar is more necessary for English conversation and writing than reading comprehension. Reading comprehension is actually not difficult because you can interpret the presented sentences by applying grammar. However, since English conversation and writing require us to make sentences, it is difficult to write sentences properly if we don't know grammar. In particular, if you memorize example sentences for each grammar, you can create, speak, and write sentences for various situations.

Question 4) How long do I need to study English vocabulary and grammar?

The total number of words in the etymology section of Efficient Boca is 1,410. Since 10 words are recorded in the glossary per day, all 1,410 words will be recorded in the glossary by 141 days. I made a review plan so that if I reviewed 30 words a day, I would finish the training of repeatedly recalling the 1,410 words in the vocabulary section of Efficient Voca 5 times after 242 days.

If we repeat the 13 grammars necessary for reading, writing, and speaking in English (5 forms of sentences, to infinitive, participle phrases, relative pronouns, related adverbs, if conditions and assumptions, active and passive, direct and indirect speech, tense, prepositions, and conjunctions), we made a review plan so that we can finish the 5 repetitive recall training sessions after 193 days.

In summary, it takes 8 months to study English vocabulary and 6 months to study English grammar.

You think studying is too long, right? Students with memories of studying for 3 months but not improving their reading and conversation skills at all will feel that their English vocabulary and grammar skills have improved significantly after 6 months of studying.

English vocabulary repetitive recall training schedule

The table below shows which words we review each day. The vertical axis indicates the date of study, and the horizontal axis shows the words to review. For example, on day 3 (D-3), review 20 new words written in D-1 and D-2; on day 14 (D-14), review 30 new words written in D-2, D-3, and D-4. From D-1 to D-13, I planned to review 20 words every day, and from D-14, I planned to review 30 words every day.

English grammar repetitive recall notes

We train to recall English sentences by looking at the Hangul sentences that need to be memorized for each English grammar. For example, look at the Hangul sentence “I made him a doctor,” which must be memorized in the noun usage of the To infinitive, and train to recall and write the English sentence “I make him a doctor.” You can use an iPad to recall and write English sentences, or you can type English sentences using PowerPoint.

There are many middle ranking students who study hard but don't get the grades they want when they take the test. If you look closely at how those students study, you can find one characteristic. You're spending too much time solving problems without properly memorizing the knowledge needed to solve them.

Prepare a blank sheet of paper. Also, choose the part of the most recent subject you've studied that you are confident you have memorized the best. Then write down what you remember on a blank sheet of paper. Keep in mind that you don't look at the textbooks, reference books, or notebooks you used to study, and rely only on your memory to write what you know on paper.

What you write on a blank sheet of paper by relying on memory is knowledge stored in your brain. If you've memorized and written almost everything you've studied, I can say that you have enough knowledge to solve problems. However, many students will be able to write only a few important keywords from what they have studied on a blank sheet of paper. This shows that you don't have enough knowledge to solve the problem. A common problem middle class students have is that they can't retrieve (remember) what they've studied from their brains. In this state, grades don't improve because they waste a lot of time solving problems.

While attending KAIST's doctoral program, I studied cognitive psychology theory. I realized that studying is a battle between brain forgetting and body laziness, and I experienced an increase in the grades of students who studied English vocabulary and grammar through repetitive recall training when teaching middle school and high school students.

I also decided to write a “Brain User Guide” book with confidence that I can properly study knowledge by knowing how the brain learns, organizes, and retrievals knowledge.

We provide English vocabulary and grammar repetitive recall notes so that students can continue daily repetitive recall training through lectures.
