Do you know what the companies below have in common?
Class 101 Carrot Market
Soka Blank Hyperconnect
That's the fact that it's a startup. Startups are inextricably linked to our lives and are changing the world in their own way. and All of the above startups have received investment from venture capital (VC). Venture capital in the startup era is a partnership that grows together.
Now is the age of startups
▶ An article about the growth of startup investment scale
The amount of startup investment is growing every year. The amount was over 4 trillion won before I knew it. On the other hand, it is said that it surpassed the first venture boom days when Kakao, Naver, etc. were born.
“Class 101 attracted 12 billion won in Series A investment.”
'Carrot Market attracts 40 billion won investment. '
“Soka attracts 50 billion investment from 4 VCs...”
In this way, articles about startup investment and exit (exit) are pouring out every day. And most of the investments that come out of the news you come across include stories about venture capital (VC). I am an investor called venture capital (VC) who grows the services I use every day and supports startups that are doing great things. They work together as entrepreneurs as they create a new world. Wouldn't they be curious at this point?
* Exit (exit): Simply put, it refers to the withdrawal of investor funds. Typically, it is carried out through IPOs, M&A, etc.
Status of VC in Korea: 4 trillion won, 250, 1,000 people
A venture capitalist (VC) is a job with the fewest number of people working with pilots in Korea. As of 2019, Their number is around 1,000 in about 200 organizations. However, the amount of capital they move is by no means small. They move 4 trillion won each year.
Therefore, many startups and prospective founders want to meet them. This is because it takes money to become the unicorn or rocket that many people talk about. However, it is true that they are difficult to meet. It's even harder to know how to partner with them. This is because the number of people employed is very small compared to the size.
It's not that difficult to understand, but since there aren't many opportunities to get to know them, everyone felt burdened. The same was true for me. That's why I wanted to create this class. For those who aren't familiar with startup funding and venture capital, I'll teach you step by step from the basics:)

Hello, I'm J, a venture capitalist who invested in Class 101!
[Main Biography]

Samsung Electronics Finance Team (2012-2014)
Graduated from Korea University, Department of Business Administration (2012)
Graduated from Korea Cyber University, Department of Computer Information Communication (2017)
Accredited as a U.S. Accountant (USCPA) (2009)
After graduating from the Department of Business Administration in 2012, I began my career as a financial team at Samsung Electronics. Then, in 2015, SoftBank Ventures (http://www.softbank.co.kr/), and for 6 years, I have had many relationships with wonderful startups that are changing the world.
Excellent in various fields other than class 101 It gave companies an opportunity to grow together.
B2B: R Square (real estate), Tridge (international trade), Modu Sign (electronic contract), Stronghold (coffee machine), Payhere (mobile POS)
Overseas: CARRO (Southeast Asia Used Car Platform), MokaPos (Inni POS), Alodokter (Inni Telemedicine Platform), Mamikos (Inni Real Estate Platform), PlaySight (Israel Sports Analysis)
I'm a person who learns through trial and error while bumping into anything. At Samsung Electronics, I applied to the Gumi factory finance team to learn about manufacturing processes and worked for nearly 3 years, and after graduating from business administration, I went back to the Faculty of Computer Science at Cyber University in hindsight to become familiar with technology.
It was the same when I first joined venture capital. As I experienced various investments, I learned them one by one. From the first year to the sixth year when I was a beginner in venture capital, I worked hard (?) I included the basics I learned while doing so in the Venture Capital 101 class.
What I'm trying to convey isn't amazing. You'll understand everything within a month of entering the industry. If you are just preparing to attract investment for the first time or are interested in being a venture capitalist, I would like to share some basic things that I would like you to know in advance.
I hope my experience will help you save time and reduce trial and error!
